We do live in extraordinary times.

On the day of the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), President Xi Jinping, in Tiananmen square, amid all the pomp and circumstance, delivered a stark geopolitical message:

The Chinese people will never allow foreign forces to intimidate, oppress or subjugate them. Anyone who tries to do this will find themselves on a collision course with a large steel wall forged by more than 1.4 billion Chinese.

I have offered a concise version of the modern Chinese miracle – which has nothing to do with divine intervention, but “searching truth from facts” (copyright Deng Xiaoping), inspired by a solid cultural and historical tradition.

The “large steel wall” evoked by Xi now permeates a dynamic “moderately prosperous society” – a goal achieved by the CCP on the eve of the centennial. Lifting over 800 million people out of poverty is a historical first – in every aspect.

As in all things China, the past informs the future. This is all about xiaokang – which may be loosely translated as “moderately prosperous society”.

The concept first appeared no less than 2,500 years ago, in the classic Shijing (“The Book of Poetry”). The Little Helmsman Deng, with his historical eagle eye, revived it in 1979, right at the start of the “opening up” economic reforms.

Now compare the breakthrough celebrated in Tiananmen – which will be interpreted all across the Global South as evidence of the success of a Chinese model for economic development – with footage being circulated of the Taliban riding captured T-55 tanks across impoverished villages in northern Afghanistan.

History Repeating: this is something I saw with my own eyes over twenty years ago.

The Taliban now control nearly the same amount of Afghan territory they did immediately before 9/11. They control the border with Tajikistan and are closing in on the border with Uzbekistan.

Exactly twenty years ago I was deep into yet another epic journey across Karachi, Peshawar, the Pakistan tribal areas, Tajikistan and finally the Panjshir valley, where I interviewed Commander Masoud – who told me the Taliban at the time were controlling 85% of Afghanistan.

Three weeks later Masoud was assassinated by an al-Qaeda-linked commando disguised as “journalists” – two days before 9/11. The empire – at the height of the unipolar moment – went into Forever Wars on overdrive, while China – and Russia – went deep into consolidating their emergence, geopolitically and geoeconomically.

We are now living the consequences of these opposed strategies.

That strategic partnership

President Putin has just spent three hours and fifty minutes answering non-pre-screened questions, live, from Russian citizens during his annual ‘Direct Line’ session. The notion that Western “leaders” of the Biden, BoJo, Merkel and Macron kind would be able to handle something even remotely similar, non-scripted, is laughable.

The key takeaway: Putin stressed US elites understand that the world is changing but still want to preserve their dominant position. He illustrated it with the recent British caper in Crimea straight out of a Monty Python fail, a “complex provocation” that was in fact Anglo-American: a NATO aircraft had previously conducted a reconnaissance flight. Putin: “It was obvious that the destroyer entered [Crimean waters] pursuing military goals.”

Earlier this week Putin and Xi held a videoconference. One of the key items was quite significant: the extension of the China-Russia Treaty of Good Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, originally signed 20 years ago.

A key provision: “When a situation arises in which one of the contracting parties deems that…it is confronted with the threat of aggression, the contracting parties shall immediately hold contacts and consultations in order to eliminate such threats.”

This treaty is at the heart of what is now officially described – by Moscow and Beijing – as a “comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era”. Such a broad definition is warranted because this is a complex multi-level partnership, not an “alliance”, designed as a counterbalance and viable alternative to hegemony and unilateralism.

A graphic example is provided by the progressive interpolation of two trade/development strategies, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU), which Putin and Xi again discussed, in connection with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which was founded only three months before 9/11.

It’s no wonder that one of the highlights in Beijing this week were trade talks between the Chinese and four Central Asia “stans” – all of them SCO members.

“Law” and “rule”

The defining multipolarity road map has been sketched in an essay by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that deserves careful examination.

Lavrov surveys the results of the recent G7, NATO and US-EU summits prior to Putin-Biden in Geneva:

These meetings were carefully prepared in a way that leaves no doubt that the West wanted to send a clear message: it stands united like never before and will do what it believes to be right in international affairs, while forcing others, primarily Russia and China, to follow its lead. The documents adopted at the Cornwall and Brussels summits cemented the rules-based world order concept as a counterweight to the universal principles of international law with the UN Charter as its primary source. In doing so, the West deliberately shies away from spelling out the rules it purports to follow, just as it refrains from explaining why they are needed.

As he dismisses how Russia and China have been labeled as “authoritarian powers” (or “illiberal”, according to the favorite New York-Paris-London mantra), Lavrov smashes Western hypocrisy:

While proclaiming the ‘right’ to interfere in the domestic affairs of other countries for the sake of promoting democracy as it understands it, the West instantly loses all interest when we raise the prospect of making international relations more democratic, including renouncing arrogant behavior and committing to abide by the universally recognized tenets of international law instead of ‘rules’.

That provides Lavrov with an opening for a linguistic analysis of “law” and “rule”:

In Russian, the words “law” and “rule” share a single root. To us, a rule that is genuine and just is inseparable from the law. This is not the case for Western languages. For instance, in English, the words “law” and “rule” do not share any resemblance. See the difference? “Rule” is not so much about the law, in the sense of generally accepted laws, as it is about the decisions taken by the one who rules or governs. It is also worth noting that “rule” shares a single root with “ruler,” with the latter’s meanings including the commonplace device for measuring and drawing straight lines. It can be inferred that through its concept of “rules” the West seeks to align everyone around its vision or apply the same yardstick to everybody, so that everyone falls into a single file.

In a nutshell: the road to multipolarity will not follow “ultimatums”. The G20, where the BRICS are represented, is a “natural platform” for “mutually accepted agreements”. Russia for its part is driving a Greater Eurasia Partnership. And a “polycentric world order” implies the necessary reform of the UN Security Council, “strengthening it with Asian, African and Latin American countries”.

Will the Unilateral Masters ply this road? Over their dead bodies: after all, Russia and China are “existential threats”. Hence our collective angst, spectators under the volcano.

  4. Things would be much better if US dispensed with the charade of democracy and declared itself Jewish oligopoly. Get rid of goy puppet leaders and declare Jewish elites as the real rulers of America. Make Zuckerberg and Bloomberg the emperors of America.

Many would be upset but at least things would be clear and honest about the nature of American Power. And then, we can have more honest foreign policy.

Russia is ruled by Russians for Russian interests.
China is ruled by Chinese for Chinese interests.

US is ruled by Jews for Jewish interests but there’s the charade that it’s a ‘liberal democracy’ defined by rule of law and civic nationalism. Bull.
If US is a colorblind civic liberal national state, why all this non-stop gushing about Israel, Israel, Israel and ‘Muh Holocaust’ and how everything must be blamed on White Supremacism? And why is globo-homo such a thing when it’s essentially the proxy of Jewish Power?

This is why foreign affairs are so wonky and confusing. Jews, the rulers of the US, the most powerful and richest country, will not show their face as the true supremacist overlords.
It’d be like dealing with India in the 19th century where the British Imperialist overlords pretended they didn’t rule India, ostensibly ruled by the brown majority in the spirit of ‘diversity, inclusion, and equity’.

In truth, the US is about homogeneity of Jewish control over institutions, exclusion of Palestinian voices & white interests in the power game — there are many whites in upper positions but in utter service to Jewish overlords — , and ever widening gap between Jewish wealth & privilege and everyone else. If Jews really want equity, how about narrowing the gap between Jewish Power and Arab-American representation?

  5. I have offered a concise version of the modern Chinese miracle

Of course, the CCP had nothing to do with the ‘miracle’. After all, similar successes had been attained by Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong WITHOUT anything resembling communism. If anything, CCP kept China from joining in the ‘miracle’ due to communism, Mao’s nuttery, and alienation from the vital West with technology and markets.
CCP contributed nothing unique to the formula of economic success. China merely copied the Singaporean version of using capitalism while maintaining tight state control. Thus, the success more to something akin to fascism or national socialism than communism, esp the Maoist variety.

Indeed, China’s system today comes closest to the fascist model. It combines capitalism with socialism. It combines traditionalism with modernism(whereas Mao waged total war on ‘bad thoughts’). And it is very nationalistic. But given fascism’s negativity as all-around epithet for political evil, no one wants to claim the term…. even as they follow its model.

If CCP contributed nothing unique to the formula of East Asian success(which mainly owes to unity of homogeneity, higher global average in IQ, work ethic, culture of diligence, respect for authority, and obsession with education & status), it has in retrospect contributed something positive in the political sphere. CCP, in utterly cutting itself from the West, forged a totally sovereign political system whereas the other East Asian regimes, minus Vietnam, came into being under tutelage or via puppetry of the West, esp US and UK.
Now, puppetry under the US and UK wasn’t such a bad thing in the past. US and UK were ruled by able and proud Anglos who were Christian and mostly sane and sound(though not very trustworthy). Indeed, in the 1950s and 1960s, a Chinese was lucky to live under British rule in Hong Kong than under Maomania in China where things were really nuts.

But whites in US and UK lost their pride and prestige and became cuck servants of Jewish Masters who’ve replaced sanity and soundness with insanity and complete nuttery. The highest values in US and UK are Jew-worship, globo-homo celebration, and mindless cuckery to criminal Negroes. White folks have become utterly stupid. Even Texas enforces genital mutilation of young ones in the name of tranny-vanity.

Because Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan came into being as tools and puppets of the US, whatever prevails in UK, US, and Canada spreads there as well. Their elites developed as cuck-muppets of the US order. Jews control whites, and yellows(of Japan and ‘tiger’ nations) imitate whites.

In contrast, because the CCP developed wholly independent of the US, it operates with greater autonomy and pride. And that’s where Xi is good… though his increasing power-grab is worrying.
Xi sees K-pop as globo-homo gay-pop and said NO.

  6. Lussier says:

China is the beneficiary of the corrupt self-enrichment pact that Chamber of Commerce puppets in elective office made with their paymasters and donors.. fixed. The Perma-Party controlled structure of the US system is in fact no way a deviation from what you would find in any totalitarian regime. That the duopoly hopes to transform one another into a ‘Washington General’s’ basketball-style controlled opposition, to maintain some transparent facade of choice, by design offers no actual representation.

“While proclaiming the ‘right’ to interfere in the domestic affairs of other countries for the sake of promoting democracy as it understands it, the West instantly loses all interest when we raise the prospect of making international relations more democratic”

Mr Lavrov is correct, however the USA – since its construction – has never been democratic, and the term is not applicable to either the US or UK at this point, although if actual democratic processes had been available to the people of these states, they could have corrected their downward trajectory when it was still possible.

The fear among the powdered-wig class was always that democratic processes would lead to their own subservience to the masses, and to an equal extent loosen the yoke that the non-working class had on the much more numerous population components.

While there is some truth to this former concern, the later factor is essentially also factual. Without a democratic process, you are almost immediately submerge into the powerful few engaging in compulsion against the powerless many, which works.. until the social damage reaches a severity that upends the entire scheme, in popular revulsion.

I picked this up in a used bookstore some time ago – https://www.amazon.com/European-Socialism-Concise-History-Documents/dp/1442209089 , and it was a slog for me simply because I have little to no interest in digesting pre-packaged dogma, but the one realization that comes to the forefront across this respective span of human history is that the primary causation of social unrest and of the rise of dogmatic systems of compulsion, is always in response to a lack of democratic process, not its presence.

    But may I rephrase?
The instability arises when whatever form of elite, forgets/refuses to acknowledge that a society is a real unified entity. Symptoms of such “ignorance” are when they choose to exploit (via crafted rules of credit/debt etc) to EXPLOIT a majority of the rest of society. In short, as like today, elites become a PARASITE upon their fellow citizens…. (never mind how they suck dry various foreigners).

That struck me too, how China is following a nationalist, socialist path so like Germany’s. The German critiques of both liberal democracy, which they recognized as irredeemably corrupted by unregulated capitalism, and of communism, which denies fundamental realities of human nature, are actually quite brilliant. No wonder the mortal enemies, western imperialism and Soviet communism, made temporary common cause of demonizing and annihilating that existential threat to their rackets. But this time the shoe (and the power) is on the other foot, though the quality of our leadership seems no better than the arrogant fools who guided Britain in 1940. The result of their Pyrrhic victory is today’s Britain, “formerly known as ‘Great’ Britain”, as Monty Python put it.

Between 1945 and 1949 America tried all that cooperation and understanding idealism; what then happened was China became communist and the USSR developed a atomic bomb. The next year the Korean war started. In the Eisenhower era, the army commanders rather than the president were supposed to take the decision on whether to use nuclear weapons. A cooperative, reasonable president of the US would be followed by a maniac.

The most stable international situation is when nation states exist in hostility to one another. Attempts to live and let live only end in the greater power thinking it is being taken for a fool and becoming excessively aggressive.

Well phrased. I would augment your statement with my own ‘Capt Obvious’ grade observation, which is that for a comfortably-ensconced controller class to give a damn about the general population, the general population has to be related / unified, to a sufficient degree, to give a damn about one another.

There is a finite elasticity-limit on combining totally unrelated and competing populations or tribes before you reach the point at which the entire social purpose is economic predation, at which stage you hit a point of no return in which the the society is itself replaced by the economic ambitions of its controller class.

There is a photo in the lobby of recent employer, showing the grand opening of the facility in the early 70’s, and what is immediately apparent in the pre-HFCS doping era, is how trim and fit the entire staff was, not so long ago. This was a nation that had no meaningful national debt, it was about to extract itself from Neo-Liberal (soon to be Neo-Con) interventionism due to mass public refusal to accept any more of this insanity. It was a nation with a bright future.

Fast forward seven years or so, and the national debt is blown through the roof, never to return again from the mega-trillions, self-interested schemers propagate myth, contrary to the entirety of human history, asserting ‘deficits don’t matter’ / ‘trickle down’, the population is fattened with nutrition-frei food additives, like cattle awaiting their early appointment at the packing house, and the political Uni-party succubus stuff their pockets by send American manufacturing to Monterrey and East Asia.

  19. @Observator

All power with any lasting potential turns fascist.

True, ‘fascism’ has such negative connotations in political discourse that it’s meant simply as either war-mongering statism or use of coercion & brutality, but then just about any regime can be called ‘fascist’.

A more honest definition of fascism would be a unifying and integrative theory of power. If any order wants to survive in the long run, it has to turn fascist because fascism bundles together all what is effective and meaningful. It was the First Intersectionality, not of idiocies(which is what ‘wokery’ is about) but of essentials.

Reactionaries are doomed to fail because they’re chained to the past. But things change and progress must happen for society to advance.
Fashionistas and faddists of futurism also fail because mankind is also about heritage, memory, continuity, and roots. You can’t just obsess over change as if every new thing is the best thing.
Theocrats fail because they enforce irrational dogma on all facets of society.
Radical rationalists fail because they seek to eradicate the spiritual and mythic side of man, which comes naturally.
Communists or radical socialists fail because they fixate only on state control and suppress individual incentives and enterprise.
Ultra-capitalism and libertarianism fail because mankind isn’t just about work and consumption, hedonism, and ‘muh freedom’.

So, fascism incorporates and bundles the meaningful elements of various theories and agendas. When done properly, the result is a formula for long-term survival.

In this sense, Russia and China have arrived at fascism.
Jews have also arrived at fascism, but an evil one that resembles Nazism — Zionism has turned into Yinonism, a form of supremacist imperialism. Still, it’s instructive to consider where Jews are at. There was a time when many Jews were ardent Marxist communists. Some turned to anarchism. Some stuck to Rabbinical Tradition. Some turned to deracination and assimilation. Some turned to total cosmopolitanism. But over the years, Jews have arrived at a synthesis, a fusion of capitalism, socialism, nationalism, individualism, traditionalism, and modernism. Jews realized that there is no single formula for survival and success. It’s like one has to learn to use the entire body, both arms, both hands, both legs, both feet, both sides of the brains.

Fascism rejects left vs right paradigm. It goes with left AND right, up and down, past-present-future. Because Xi is head of CCP, he is obligated to spout some Marxist-Leninist platitudes, but his overall message is China must harmonize and activate all its elements to survive and thrive into the future. It’s like weight-training. You must work on every muscle than just concentrating on a few while neglecting the rest. Likewise, there is no single nutrient for the body. There are many nutrients that must be taken together.

All forms of power, if they are to survive and succeed, must arrive at fascist synthesis.

Here is a description of the book by a used book seller:

159 pages. Third printing of the 1928 first edition. The landmark work by the man who has come to be known as “The Father of Spin.” “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.” – from page 9. Chapters include: Organizing Chaos; The New Propaganda; The New Propagandists; The Psychology of Public Relations; Business and the Public; Propaganda and Political Leadership; Women’s Activities and Propaganda; Propaganda for Education; Propaganda in Social Services; Art and Science; The Mechanics of Propaganda. Average wear. Unmarked. Binding intact. Moderate age-toning to contents. A sound early copy of this profoundly influential work.

Unfortunately, this might be the only way to avoid the imposition of the cultural degeneration of the West under the Jewish social engineering project. A good ruler having immense power is far better than the invisible oligarchic rule that has taken hold of the West while Western powers are voted in and out by a populace that still believes voting counts for something.

The enforcement of “genital mutilation of young ones” (hardly begins) “in the name of tranny-vanity,” with sexually confused kids, due to delusional societal pressure, falsely believing that they were born into the wrong gender. Nor does it begin with the mutilation of girls in a minority of backward Muslim countries.

No, it begins at birth for American gentile boys and Jewish boys, with the barbaric rite of circumcision. Just, perhaps, if we recognized that boys are born with the god-given right to genital autonomy, and don’t belong to their parents like a piece of furniture, we would not be so quick to allow money-hungry surgeons to genitally mutilate sexually confused, depressed, and lonely teenagers. Circumcision is of the Jew, and the explosion in transexualism, like forced circumcision, is Evil. The first makes the second acceptable.

In all honesty one thing good the CCP under Mao acheieved was rapid improvement in basic healthcare and education for the masses in a huge population. One look at Socialist India next door and you can see the difference. I think, China had achieved a HDI level in the 80s when it was opening up, which India has not even reached till now though India has seen rapid improvements too. And remember India in 1950 was in afar better position than China due to the British Empire development and having more or less escaped WW2/ Civil War destruction, indeed India made money thanks to the World War. China too benefited from heavy industries in Manchuria, developed by the Japanese Empire, that region remained the industrial heartland of China for a long time. Both got more or less equal help from the USSR later on.

And ironically Democracy India is still more socialist and less business friendly even today than Communist China!!! There has been some improvements under Modi in business freindliness but even he cannot get over the Socialist Laskian Nehruvian Licence Raj ghost of India.
