What concerns me is the number of women in our active duty and NG ranks. 127.000 is too high. Women are not as versatile as men. To be deployed to a combat zone every soldier needs to be convertible to a basic infantry soldier able to carry a machine gun with 600+ rounds of ammo AND a couple of, e.g. 81mm mortar rounds or some other piece of equipment above and beyond their standard kit and carry it for miles on foot. Women just can’t do that.

A lot of people don’t realize that most jobs in the Army are not direct combat specialties. There are lots and lots of support positions that are basically administrative paper pushers, form fillers, and Human Resources-type desk jobs. These jobs are overwhelmingly held by bLACK Wahmuns. A lot of them exceed the Army’s weight standards – somehow they often seem to escape the mandatory discharge that should result from chronic obesity. Going to one of these support offices is a lot like going to the DMV, only with uniforms.

In my experience, when bLACK Wahmuns in the Army don’t get their way or when someone doesn’t think they’re “all that” and show them the proper deference or they don’t get promoted, they go straight to the racism card. Their level of self-reflection and personal responsibility is often very low.

Even during regular service these women suffer much higher rates of incapacitating injuries and other medical conditions. These impose significant financial and other burdens on the country as a whole, the military, and their fellow soldiers.

The Chinese uniforms look like drum majorette outfits for 12-14 year olds. Or Barbie doll outfits. The Americans look like they’re dressed for janitor work at least.

I like the red and white Barbie uniforms best. I’d change the color of the rifles to royal blue. Red and black is just too harsh and masculine a color combo. Personal opinion is the Chinese women are all extras from all those Chinese historical films featuring hundreds of pretty girls in the Emperors palace.

The US Military relies on its’ technology to get the upper hand against whomever it deems an adversary. I don’t think it it a white/Asian divide, strictly speaking: Eastern Europeans are no less reserved around strangers, and Austro-Polynesians (Indonesians, Filipinos) are notoriously smile happy. The real reason probably is that ladies aren’t wholly Americanized.

I think it is more that Americans smile a lot in general. And part of this is sex: women are socially conditioned to smile more than men, and we implicitly expect that-when I was younger, I didn’t really appreciate how much pressure women felt to hide their true feelings. In Malay/Indonesian/Filipino culture, as it turns out, showing your true emotions is considered uncouth and immature, no matter who you are, so they’ll keep it hidden behind a placid smile. I suppose when you combine that with English skills, that’s why the service industry really likes Filipinas.

I think East Asians and Amerindians are generally more taciturn, introverted, and reserved. While blacks are generally the most extroverted, gregarious, talkative. We had no female soldiers in the 193rd Infantry Brigade except a few armorers who didn’t deploy with the infantry. They couldn’t keep up.

The other thing is that the reported makeup of the panel who made the recommendations was decidedly short on the male soldier side. Given the make-up of the Army, it would seem that the panel should reflect the same percentages as the military population which it (allegedly) served. That additional failure by the military leadership – and the Perfumed Princes in the Puzzle Palace – adds impetus to any lawsuit which will certainly be filed at some future point.

Although there could be an opportunity for profit here; if someone were to design and market helmets and other headgear with ponytail and long-straight-hair enhancements. A black female coworker retired from the Army at age 38 after serving twenty years active duty. While serving, she had three children from her first soldier-husband and three more from her second soldier-husband, enjoying six months paid maternity leave for each of the six kids. In other words, she “worked” seventeen years but got paid for twenty.

1. You’re assuming she “worked” for 17 years when I would guess, based on three decades experience in the Army, she avoided work whenever she could.

2. US Military personnel get 30 days paid vacation per year, unlimited sick days, and more holidays than you can imagine. So at the very least, you get a whole year off every 12 years.

3. You’re ignoring the “value” she added to our nation by creating six more blacks. Which is statistically probably a net cost, not a benefit.

Actually it’s the other way around.

Black women are overwhelmingly dependent on the army to give them a steady paycheck and outstanding benefits, including that golden ring of retirement after putting in 20 years sitting on their asses all day.

The US armed services are one of the biggest, most bloated welfare agencies in the government.

How much true “social distancing” do you actually see where you live? I don’t see any in my neck of the woods. Almost everyone in the supermarket comes much closer than 6 ft. apart routinely. Does anyone even pay attention to those floor stickers to keep their distance?

The US Military is complex. The Marines, the Army, have been fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq and other places for the last 20 years. So in various small unit operations, against enemies without any air cover or artillery and armor (like Trump voters) they are very good.

However, the constant deployments, the toll IEDs and other improvised devices took (and to a degree still do though troop carrier protection is far better than in the early 2000s) has caused a great deal of attrition since the 9/11 enlistment surge. Many of the experienced officers and non coms are now retired. Infantry is a capable force, but far less so than likely its peak in around 2007-8. And against a peer competitor like Russia or China or Iran in and around the Gulf likely to face defeats without complete air cover. Counter-battery fire for example has been neglected.

The US Navy is hopeless, its a dead force moving. The Chinese and Iranians can not challenge in the deep ocean but can get coastal and near coastal dominance. The Navy can’t even keep its ships from running aground or being a total loss at dry dock due to disgruntled sailors.

The Air Force has been flying missions non-stop since 2001. It has performed well, but has not been tested against peer or near pear forces since the Vietnam War. Its air frames are aging and there are no replacements for key planes: the tankers, the AC-10 Warthog, the F-15/F-16, the B-52. The F-35 is a total failure, the F-22 was built in only small quantities.

Unlike in WWII, the US has now very limited industrial capacity. If most of its front line fighters and ships and tanks were wiped out, we would not be able to replace them for decades.

And don’t forget how many of these lazy lump lard arses retire and apply for “disability”. Not the legit claims–those are dwarfed by the BS claims. The amount of military personnel on phony disability these days is a national scandal that few outsiders know about and none dare touch.

The US Military was absolutely more cohesive in the latter stages of WWII, but I’m not sure that they were very well motivated. The accounts I’ve read, of Hurtgen Forest especially, are marked by a hatred for the US command almost as strong as for the Germans. The men in non-elite line formations wanted only to go home.
About the Marines, I’m less sure. They seem to have developed a real hatred for the Japs by Iwo Jima.
I take your overall point, though. They were light years ahead of where we are now.

US was not directly involved in 1948 war, six-day war or Yom Kippur war. US did and still does provide a lot of hardware to Israel but hardware alone doesn’t win wars – for a proof of that you only have to look across the desert at Saudi Arabia who are one of the biggest military spenders in the world yet are complete joke in practice. (despite not having any women in service, as far as I know)

The Israelis ostentatiously assembled some of their nukes, giving Kissinger an excuse to fly tons and tons of materiel to the Israelis. Nukes that were constructed from fissionable material stolen from the US in the 60’s. Five years after Israel tried, and nearly succeeded, sinking the USS Liberty in International waters.
This, of course, resulted in the Arab Oil Embargo of 1973.

Actually, the more relevant Army recruiting slogan fiasco is the early aughts “Army of One” (“I am an Army of One”) slogan which replaced “Be All You Can Be.”

Twenty years ago, the then Army G-1 told the mid-career officers attending the Command and General Staff College class of 2001 that those who thought “Army of One” was a terrible way to frame Army service and, ultimately, to attract recruits, “just don’t get it.”

It was abandoned after a few years in 2006. Typical Army knee jerk reaction to whatever appears to be the current Zeitgeist.

The US Army will eventually be unusable because of its weak morale, exacerbated by the endless diversity-fetishism and the continuing erosion of our tech advantages that have compensated for its shaky fighting spirit in the past.

Looks like something that should be dropped by a B-52.

So, if you are able to do that, you can engage a man size target, in theory…without ballistics…you can shoot well enough to engage a man sized target out to 500 yards. That’s what Appleseed talks about…the “rifleman’s quarter-mile.”

So, at Appleseed, they’re getting you to shoot in different positions with the goal of getting you to that 4 MOA standard…They have a very streamlined way to teach it and will teach anyone who shows up with a rifle and any type of sights, whatever they happen to have. They get them from shooting all over the place to shooting at 4 MOA. So, you go and get taught all the things that you need to do to shoot well…

So, I went to Korea and then Iraq…where we did the invasion of Iraq. That was the first time I ever started pointing guns at people and actually shooting people.

There, we found out quickly that we couldn’t shoot very well. And that realization started me on a path. I started paying a lot more attention to shooting. At first that just meant applying Army stuff and trying to shoot better. Unfortunately, what I didn’t know at that time was that it was woefully inadequate.

So, a lot of what Ash says is something we have been saying here since 2012. No surprise there. It doesn’t take a COMMANDO OPERATOR to know that most of the piss poor performance of the Army’s marksmanship is from. None of us have been to Senior Leaders Assault Urban Rappel Course though, so we might not be able to be trusted about rifle marksmanship fundamentals.

U.S. Navy’s New $13 Billion Aircraft Carrier Struggles to Fly and Land Planes

The newest and costliest U.S. aircraft carrier, praised by President Donald Trump and delivered to the Navy on May 31 with fanfare, has been dogged by trouble with fundamentals: launching jets from its deck and catching them when they land.

Now, it turns out that the system used to capture jets landing on the USS Gerald R. Ford ballooned in cost, tripling to $961 million from $301 million, according to Navy documents obtained by Bloomberg News.

While the Navy says the landing system has been fixed, the next-generation carrier built by Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. still hasn’t been cleared to launch F/A-18 jets carrying a full complement of fuel tanks under their wings, a handicap that could limit their effectiveness in combat.

US Navy’s first 4 littoral combat ships to leave the fleet in 9 months

The Navy’s first four littoral combat ships will be headed into mothballs next March, according to a June 20 message from the chief of naval operations.

The littoral combat ships Freedom, Independence, Fort Worth and Coronado will all be inactivated on March 31, 2021, with Coronado being commissioned just six years ago.

The Navy decided to cut the ships to save money on modernization efforts as it faces a mountain of shipbuilding bills and upgrade costs.

Air Force Says KC-46 Is A “Lemon” That It’s Trying To Make Lemonade Out Of

I hear you, except you must realize that a very large portion of the military has nothing to do with national security or maintaining the Empire. It is a social meddling behemoth and jobs program, among other things. Even when we’re fighting multiple wars, which we still are despite our reluctance to talk or think about them.

Assume there are people somewhere in the armed forces who realize that some parts of the behemoth must be able to perform the tasks that the entire thing was designed to perform. You know, killing our enemies and making the world safe for whatever it is we stand for which isn’t democracy. Assume also that they have taken at least some precautions in segregating parts of the military that might actually matter at some point.

I don’t trust they’ll be able to keep the Afro She-Brigade, Lipstick Company, and Fornication Squad from spoiling things. However, if anything serious ever happens with enough forewarning also as to not kill us all with a virus or whatever, I expect the military to suddenly get extremely discriminatory.

Or is that pie-in-the-sky thinking?

I sailed aboard Nimitz in the 70s through 82. Not one cold cat shot in thousands of launches of F14s and A6 Intruders, among others, heavy planes. Ford class carriers are capable of losing 1 plane in the drink out of every 255 launches. Not acceptable, hence the lead ship of the Ford class is out 5 years and is still not mission capable and has made no deployments. Doesn’t matter, women assigned to Ford and all the others refuse deployments because, the children. Their deployment plan for their children was a lie. Doesn’t matter if the ships are ready or not, 40% of crewed ships and squadron units and airwings refuse the cruise because women have the jobs and the power to refuse deployments. Floating office buildings for single mothers the carriers. And still military sails, 50 years later.. Might as well scrap Naval Air. We cannot man them anymore. Not enough men.

When I went into Navair in 76, we served for Mom, Apple pie and Chevrolet. Now? A lot of this touchy-feely crud doesn’t seem to fly on the combat arms side of things; life is different amongst POGs. Infantry culture, I am told by the 11Bs of my acquaintance, is still relatively meritocratic; you’re mostly judged on your competence, and if you get chewed out, it’s generally assumed you were a dumba**, not the victim of racist discrimination. Combat units apparently push back against some of this political pressure. That’s very much no longer the case for most non-combat specialties, though, at least from what I hear. Not an expert here, though, so anyone who knows more feel free to chime in.

General George Brown was an Air Force General who became Chairman of the JCOS in July, 1974. He flew B24s in the 8th Air Force in WWII. His remarks were made later that year. He had been Air Force Chief of Staff in ‘73.

The KC46 that they are having all the problems with is a modified Boeing 767 platform outfitted to perform refueling missions. The 767 is around 40 years old, so most of the bugs should be worked out.
And, while they do have some mission-specific issues and problems, some of the most egregious ones involve basics, like tools that Boeing left in the aircraft that were delivered to the USAF (including, I heard, a LADDER left in the plane, for God’s sake).

Don’t forget, in your list of recent military tech fails, to include the B2 Bomber. ($2.2 billion apiece in 1990 money) They’ve managed to keep that one stage-managed better than Pedo Joe’s handlers keep him out of the spotlight.
