Politicians, public health authorities, and many journalists demand that Americans trust “the science,” but “the science” is often not science but dogma. Soon after taking office, Joe Biden said his administration would “lead with science and truth.” Should we have expected fantasy and lies? Vice President Kamala Harris said:

The science behind climate change is not a hoax. The science behind the virus is not partisan. The same laws apply, the same evidence holds true regardless of whether or not you accept them.

This is true, but people don’t agree about what the “same evidence” means. What those in power want is for us to accept the truth as defined by institutions such as pharmaceutical companies, the Centers for Disease Control, the White House, and the office of the Surgeon General. Most Americans are not going to read clinical studies; even fewer can understand them. Trusting these institutions is an act of faith, and faith must be earned, not required.

If people undermine this faith, they become a threat. That is why there is such a panic about “misinformation.” This month, President Biden accused Facebook of “killing people,” though he later explained he meant people who use Facebook. The Surgeon General says “misinformation” is an “imminent and insidious threat to our nation’s health.” The White House and allied media including NPR, the New York Times, CNN, touted a report about the “Disinformation Dozen,” 12 people they blamed for spreading misinformation. The “Center for Countering Digital Hate” wrote the report, which shows the ever-expanding definition of “hate.” Naturally, some want the “dozen” deplatformed immediately. “Critical thinking, as we’re taught to do it, isn’t helping in the fight against misinformation,” explained one op-ed in the New York Times.

Generally, I’m not a vaccine skeptic. I think COVID-19 is dangerous. However, that’s not the point. Deplatforming would show that there really isn’t much difference between the state and social media. It’s even worse to claim that muzzling anti-vaxxers is fighting “hate.” The government and Big Tech getting together to decide who can and can’t speak worries me more than COVID-19. There will be bias. Black attorney Ben Crump, who is suing vaccine maker Johnson & Johnson over talcum powder, will not have to worry about being deplatformed. The White House will not say his claim — whatever the evidence — that a pharmaceutical company made a dangerous product is “hate.”

Censorship doesn’t look good when the Administration changes its advice. Two months ago, President Biden told vaccinated Americans they didn’t need to wear masks. Now, he must convince them to put them back on. The Centers for Disease Control are not publishing the data experts need to analyze the new policy. According to Pfizer, the immunity provided by the company’s vaccine declines by about 16 percent in six months. Scientists disagree about whether “booster” shots will be necessary. Those vaccinated may still be able to spread the disease, particularly as new variants develop. Whatever “the science” says today, it may say something else tomorrow.

Confusion about this is natural. COVID-19 is poorly understood. “The science” should change as knowledge increases. In a competent country, policymakers could say that there are no perfect solutions, but give us the best available information so we can make choices.

In America, ideology trumps science. We don’t even know where COVID-19 came from and may never know. Some scientists warn that “rhetoric around an alleged lab leak” could fuel “online bullying of scientists and anti-Asian harassment in the United States, as well as offending researchers and authorities in China whose cooperation is needed.” This sacrifices knowledge to politics.

What people call “science” is becoming closer to revealed truth. A recent study of “antimaskers” found that it was “empirically false” to say they were “data-illiterate or not engaging with the data.” They read reports and reach their own conclusions. The study, partially funded by the National Science Foundation and the Social Science Research Council, concluded that data are a “battleground” and suggested — astonishingly — that supplying more data might undermine “mainstream science.” In fairness, the study also said that experts should emphasize their own uncertainty. The failure to admit that they don’t have all the answers “has contributed to the erosion of public trust in science.”

We don’t have modest, self-aware government, corporations, and public health authorities. Instead, we get more dogmatism. Home Depot, Google, Facebook, and Netflix, require or will require vaccinations: Get the jab or lose your job. President Biden is reportedly mulling a vaccination requirement for federal workers. “Vaccine passports,” or proof of vaccination are already sometimes required before you can enter a business or travel abroad.

How much does the federal government really care about our health? Thousands of illegal immigrants are entering the country through the southern border, even though the border with Canada remains closed. Some illegals tested positive, but a Catholic “charity” sent them to local hotels and didn’t bother to notify local officials.

The Lancet reports that obesity (“another ongoing pandemic”) makes COVID-19 worse. Where’s the media campaign to reduce obesity, which increased over the last year? Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene may have overstated the case when she said COVID-19 isn’t dangerous to anyone who’s not old or obese. However, FiveThirtyEight’s dismissal of “the right-wing troll culture’s long fixation on fat-shaming” ignores reality. If the government wants to protect people from COVID-19, exercise and diet should be part of that effort — but that would be “ableist.”

The Wall Street Journal recently published an article on “How Science Lost the Public’s Trust,” concluding that “the politicization of science leads to a loss of confidence in science as an institution.” Ties with Communist China and the fear of being considered politically incorrect have warped priorities and kept researchers from investigating controversial topics. The article refers to a paper on glaciers that was criticized “because it wasn’t sufficiently feminist” — but there is a solution. “Glaciers, gender, and science: A feminist glaciology framework for global environmental change research,” published in Progress in Human Geography, will lead us to “more just and equitable science and human-ice relations.”

Several months ago, the Wall Street Journal also published “How a More Resilient America Beat a Midcentury Pandemic.” When the Asian flu struck in 1957, there were no lockdowns. Americans had a greater tolerance of risk and communities were stronger. Author Niall Ferguson:

Compare these stoical attitudes with the strange political bifurcation of reactions we saw last year, with Democrats embracing drastic restrictions on social and economic activity, while many Republicans acted as if the virus was a hoax. Perhaps a society with a stronger fabric of family life, community life and church life was better equipped to withstand the anguish of untimely deaths than a society that has, in so many ways, come apart.

A further contrast between 1957 and 2020 is that the competence of government would appear to have diminished even as its size has expanded. The number of government employees in the U.S., including those in federal, state and local governments, numbered 7.8 million in November 1957 and reached around 22 million in 2020—a nearly threefold increase, compared with a doubling of the population. Federal net outlays were 16.2% of GDP in 1957 versus 20.8% in 2019.

There are three reasons today’s America is unprepared for the pandemic. The first is that “the science” is not always science because institutions sometimes sacrifice the truth to ideology. The second is that, thanks to diversity, America is no longer a high-trust society. Many Americans don’t believe what their government, media outlets, and “experts” tell them. Finally, many people seem to think the disease is an excuse to censor people they don’t like, increase their own power, and accomplish unrelated political goals.

For example, many vaccinated people are angry at unvaccinated people; they want to make life “hard” for them or put them in prison.

“You’re not nearly as smart as I thought you were,” says President Biden of the unvaccinated. Would he say that if he knew whites are more likely to be vaccinated than blacks and Hispanics? Vaccination rate shows the same racial pattern we see almost everywhere.

Do liberals really want unvaccinated people’s lives to be “hard,” or is that reserved for whites?

White advocates aren’t shocked when elites refuse to face the truth. Charles Murray, not one of us, but an honest broker, recently wrote Facing Reality: Two Truths About Race in America to explain racial differences. Jared Taylor wondered in his review whether one man could break the taboo, but the taboo remains unbroken. Unlike with The Bell Curve, journalists haven’t given the book broad coverage. Instead, there has been silence, even among conservatives. It’s best to ignore what you can’t refute.

Tucker Carlson gave Dr. Murray a respectful interview, but there were many claims that this peddled “pseudoscience.” However, the data are clear. We can speak with far more confidence about race than we can about a virus that is mutating and spawning new variants.

Unfortunately, we can’t rationally discuss education, national security, crime, medicine, or any issue if policymakers refuse to accept the reality of race. Some intellectuals openly want to hide the truth.

  • Howard Gardner — “I do not condone investigations of racial differences in intelligence, because I think the results are likely to be incendiary.”
  • Noam Chomsky — “Surely people differ in their biologically determined qualities. But discovery of a correlation between some of these qualities is of no scientific interest and of no social significance except to racists, sexists, and the like.”
  • Daniel Dennett of Tufts University on ideas he doesn’t like — “[I]f I encountered people conveying a message I thought was so dangerous that I could not risk giving it a fair hearing, I would be at least strongly tempted to misrepresent it, to caricature it for the public good. I’d want to make up some good epithets, such as genetic determinist or reductionist or Darwinian Fundamentalist, and then flail those straw men as hard as I could. As the saying goes, it’s a dirty job, but somebody’s got to do it.”

As one of the “New Atheists,” Daniel Dennett is not afraid to attack God, but he is afraid to attack the egalitarian theocracy.

Professor Chomsky has valuable things to say about media power and its ability to “manufacture consent.” However, he clings to orthodoxy on race, thus ensuring that “racists, sexists, and the like” are the only people with anything meaningful to say about social problems.

Racial egalitarianism is the defining idea of modern America. It is faith, not science. It is something close to a religion. Blasphemy justifies iconoclasm.

This delusion prevents progress. It’s why things keep getting worse. Many Americans live their lives desperately trying to escape diversity’s consequences. Even those who don’t consciously know this still act like white advocates when they choose where to live or send their children to school.

Our rulers may not be wrong about COVID-19. They may not be wrong about vaccines or how to prevent the virus’s spread. However, these are the same people who are wrong about race. They may be motivated by malice, misguided idealism, or ignorance, but the consequences are still disastrous.

Plenty of smart Americans recognize reality except when it comes to race. However, it’s very difficult for powerless Americans to believe rulers who are either duplicitous or completely ignorant about race.

This leads to the environment that produced “QAnon,” where wild promises of salvation lead people to a dead end. Unlike President Biden, I don’t think vaccine skeptics are stupid. They deserve better leaders, and it’s not surprising they want answers. They may be in an echo chamber, but the censors have created the echo chamber they now blame for what they call conspiracy theories.

High-trust societies behave differently. Largely homogenous Iceland has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world. Largely homogenous Japan, which took an isolationist approach, has one of the lowest rates in the developed world. Diversity reduces social trust. In a crisis, diversity breaks it.

Medical questions are complicated, and every treatment or vaccine has some risk. Knowledge isn’t complete. People make mistakes. If the mainstream media won’t explore these questions, skeptics will. If the response is censorship, there will be even more skeptics. Vaccines, masking, and lockdowns are not simple issues. There are costs and benefits. In a diverse, low-trust society, our rulers don’t seem to trust us to discuss them.

A recent paper finds that political polarization between Republicans and Democrats is increased by racial sorting, namely, whites fleeing Democrats. It goes beyond race, because partisan identity is also driven by “a mental image of the opposition that is composed of disliked social groups.” White liberals, unique among all groups, have an animus for their own race. This is probably not “self-hatred,” but hatred of white conservatives, who are their true “other.” This is why it probably didn’t occur to President Biden that he was insulting his base when he said unvaccinated Americans were stupid. To him and countless other liberals, “unvaccinated” means “conservative.”

In a society with low social trust, people take a position because it offends the other side. What if Donald Trump had won the election and was pushing mandatory vaccination? We’d see a lot more liberal sympathy for anti-vaxxers, especially non-whites. Likewise, some of those refusing the vaccine might take it because they trust Donald Trump. Even in the current climate, we have politicians sayingracism” is a public health crisis. If we still had President Trump, op-eds would call his Administration “the real virus.”

The study of medicine, biology, and evolutionary history is interesting and exciting. In a rational society dedicated to human advancement rather than egalitarianism and dysgenics, would make enormous efforts to find new knowledge.

However, few people want to suffer the fate of James Watson. If “the science” is just consensus opinion we have no reason to accept it. Now, when we need real experts and nuanced communication, we get hysteria, moral shaming, and shifting guidelines.

We need a patriotic ruling class that wants to solve problems, scientists led by the data and not politics, trustworthy institutions, and honest journalists. Without them, we are in permanent crisis. A vital first step would be to recognize racial reality. Then, the long process of repairing trust between the rulers and ruled could begin.

Barring radical change, and without help from all of you, this won’t happen. Those in power will seek scapegoats to explain their failure. Now that vaccine skeptics are lumped in with “haters,” our masters will know whom to blame.

  1. It occurs to me that this whole game of characterizing people who are against mandatory vaccinations – and the vast erosion of personal liberty that entails – as, “anti-American” or unpatriotic, is really something that should be met head on.

I completely reject the notion that my being against getting injected with something against my will makes me a bad citizen.

I am pro-American. Those who wish to violate my bodily sovereignty are anti-American, because they are against the core principles that the country is supposed to stand for – a democratic republic, an open society with due process and the rule of law, a humble inward looking government constrained by checks and balances, a bulwark justice system more than strong enough to keep the tireless wolves of government and corporate tyranny at bay…

But those who would force this upon us… They corrupt all of that by defending the indefensible all the while hiding behind a cloak of faux patriotism. Those guys nauseate me. Really.

If Trump was still sitting President “My body My choice” would be the new liberal mantra for the Two Minutes Hate (replacing the old standby “hands up, don’t shoot”).

COVID deaths and cases started plummeting as soon as Biden was inaugurated. They dropped some 80% by the time only 15% of Americans were fully jabbed. Even if the pandemic curve was spoofed during the election and lame duck period to monger fear, we should still expect the pandemic to end sooner or later. That’s what epidemics do: they break out, form a curve, and then disappear. Their disappearance is due to the twin forces of natural selection and immune development. The tendency of any germ in a human population is to evolve towards greater transmissibility and lower mortality. At that point it may or may not become endemic. There are already four endemic human coronaviruses.

This kind of evolution is exactly what we have observed with Delta. It is more contagious and less lethal. The sharp rise in cases attributed to Delta has not been matched by a corresponding rise in deaths. The data shows than on an average per-case basis, Delta is 10-25 times less deadly than the original COVID. This would all be great, except for one thing. Half the population has now been inoculated with a leaky vaccine.

Anyone with a basic knowledge of virology could have seen this coming. It was always considered common wisdom that there can be no vaccine for the common cold (30% of which are caused by endemic coronaviruses) because single strand RNA viruses mutate so rapidly. Even if the jabs offered sufficient protection against infection from the original COVID strain (hint: they did not) it is entirely predictable that a new strain would arise and devalue the vaccine. Israel said recently that the jabs are only 39% effective at protecting against infection from Delta. Today the CDC said the jabbed are “3 fold” more protected against infection from Delta. That implies a mere 67% efficacy at preventing infection.

There has been much ado about the jabs being depopulation tools that will kill or sterilize the jabbed. Recognize this for what it is: a propagandist fantasy. Many have rightly pointed out that it would make no sense for TPTB to cull the compliant and spare the non compliant. Enter the leaky vaccine. As a study of Marek’s disease in chickens claims, vaccinating half of a population with a leaky vaccine has a predictable effect. If a very “hot” version of the virus is released into such a population, the vaxxed birds will survive the infection longer, allowing them to spread it more widely. As a result, instead of burning itself out, the hot virus will spread throughout the whole population. In the study it killed ALL the unvaccinated chickens.

Think of Ebola. Ebola outbreaks tend to be short lived, because the virus is so lethal, it burns itself out quickly. Now imagine half of an African village being given a leaky vaccine for Ebola. It might be 95% effective at reducing severe symptoms, but in the event of an outbreak, the vaxxed will be able to spread the disease to all the unvaxxed. Not the other way around.

Of course, COVID is far less lethal than Ebola. But the principle remains. We shouldn’t expect a super deadly version of COVID to pop out of nowhere, unless of course it is all part of a biowarfare operation. In that case TPTB can release a super deadly COVID variant, and thanks to the leaky vaccine vectors, the variant will spread far and wide and kill everyone who is not jabbed.

I will remain un jabbed and I am not suggesting that anyone run out to get the vaccine to spare themselves from death. But I do suggest that we all be prepared to die a horrible death at the hands of a bio weapon, with a bunch of compliant Karens standing over our graves, laughing and saying “We told you so”. It is entirely possible to be both right and dead.

I never had any inclination to get the covid shot, and I have long been suspicious of vaccines- because of side effects. Seems it’s all even worse than I suspected. I shall definitely remain un jabbed.

Natural immunity protects against even leaky vaccine exposure, yes? I sure hope so.

You’re missing the whole point. Science certainly applies to climate and viruses. But official “science” is the exact opposite of actual science on these two issues.

Our rulers ARE wrong about the “virus”. Anyone who knows the slightest bit about actual viruses and actual immunity and actual public health can see this instantly. Before 2020, public health had painfully developed EFFECTIVE methods of dealing with a virus, mainly relying on natural immunity.

2020 flipped EVERY ONE OF THOSE PROPER RULES UPSIDE DOWN. The explicit purpose of 2020 is to DESTROY natural immunity, not to work with it.

Zuck must have changed his position then. Just last summer, he was telling his people not to get vaccinated because of the risks: https://www.projectveritas.com/news/facebook-ceo-mark-zuckerberg-takes-anti-vax-stance-in-violation-of-his-own/

Do liberals really want unvaccinated people’s lives to be “hard,” or is that reserved for whites?

I think we all know the answer to that one: if colored people don’t want vaccines, then it’s obviously because they’ve ‘internalized anti-vaxx White supremacy’!

High-trust societies behave differently. Largely homogenous Iceland has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.

And they’re worse off for it, too:

Of course, there is every chance that all these new ‘cases’ are just more false-positives generated by the PCR test, but that’s a discussion for another day …

The fact that in a New England study 85% of first trimester pregnancies were terminated after getting a clot shot suggests that yes indeed, and obviously, the clot shots are affecting fertility by definition.

I am long past putting such things down to incompetence or bad luck or whatever.

“Many have rightly pointed out that it would make no sense for TPTB to cull the compliant and spare the non compliant.”

It does make sense if you see people as the problem that needs to be solved and while the weak “vaccine” causes variants those un-“vaccinated” people who are already naturally immune, i.e almost everyone who is un-“vaccinated , have nothing to fear from those variants as they are completely immune from the minor changes this virus is capable of making whilst still remaining viable but “vaccinated” people who have destroyed their innate generic immunity with the clot shots do indeed have everything to fear as at some point a deadly variant that is also highly transmissible is going to rise and finish them off in their damaged immune state.

Was this done by design from day one? Of course it was.

It doesn’t matter if they are leaky because they don’t destroy the innate generic immune systems of those that get them so if a variant arises it can still be dealt with and not incubated as happens by design with the mRNA clot shots to make some even more horrific variant.

Anyone who has had even a single mRNA clot shot is basically marching time waiting for Godot and this time Godot will arrive.

Doesn’t really matter if it was an accident or done deliberately, it happened and this genie is not going back into its bottle.

Does anyone think the Kim Jong Un’s of the world haven’t picked up on this. Why spend vast sums on building a nuclear arsenal you cannot use without leaving a return address on it when for a fraction of the cost you can engineer a bioweapon and cause economic and social devastation on the world and then earn billions from selling your ‘ready to go’ vaccine against your own bio weapon.

For most American males, their “bodily sovereignty” was first violated when part of their penis was cut off a day or two after they left mommy’s birth canal. Once this principle is established, that parents and doctors can treat little babies as pieces of furniture, the concept of bodily autonomy becomes but a figment. The current craze to vaccinate children, who are too young to give informed consent, with an untested experimental concoction is a continuation of that initial outrage. (The same principle applies in the current craze which vainly attempts to turn boys into girls, but that’s an issue for another day).

The doctor’s pledge “to first do no harm” is violated every time they take up their scalpel to a child’s healthy genitals, or plunge a Covid19-infected needle into the arm of healthy children, whose chance of dying, (or getting seriously ill), prior to the shot from a fantastically overhyped “virus” are nil. It’s as if we’ve lost our collective minds playing obsessively with our not-so-smart tracking devices, and vegetating like couch potatoes staring at the telly transfixed by mindless game shows.

I’ve said before here, but I’ll repeat it.

My mother is 101 years old and she is in a nursing home where they are monitored every day for all health conditions. Before the vaccine was available she became positive for SARS2Covid19 and she became ill. She had the full influenza caused by the virus, according to her doctors. She was given some kind of common anti-congestion medicine and, within one week of becoming sick, she had recovered. Other people of advanced years there have had it and have recovered.

I know about ten other people, not in facilities, who have been sick from the coronavirus and all recovered pretty quickly.

My mother has now had the vaccine. I know of no adverse effects from it, but, then, she’s 101 years old and has bad days from various conditions, but is remarkably healthy.

I was very sick in January with a SARS condition and recovered. I don’t automatically go to doctors, so I can’t say it would have qualified as the Fauci flu. I suspect I have appropriate antigens. I’ll get the regular flu shot this September, but will have to have more positive information before I’ll get the mRNA variety.

People do like to categorize knowledge, and then call certain categories of knowledge ‘science’, and other categories of knowledge ‘not science’.

The term ‘science’ has become trusted by many, and is therefore a desirable tag to attach to anything. ‘Science’ has become trusted because the actual process of science is a very good way of generating true knowledge.

For those who do not rigorously and correctly follow the process of science, it is important for their own credibility and ego to have the knowledge they generate counted as science. The easiest way to do this is to define the body of knowledge itself as ‘science’ so that whether or not the knowledge is generated using science, trusting people will believe the knowledge is true knowledge. In this way, untrue knowledge can be readily injected into the body of knowledge by using processes other than science, and still be believed as true by trusting people.

So no. Science is not the body of knowledge or information if the word ‘science’ is to remain credible. The word science has acquired that meaning, but the bodies of knowledge of many disciplines such as chemistry, computers, politics and the like are filled with knowledge that was not scientifically generated. That ‘science’ is now being equated to knowledge or information per se, dilutes and destroys the trust that the word ‘science’ elicits.

Distrust in our institutions is complex, accelerated by our access to infinite information found on the Internet. Alternate realities are now being created and perpetuating by “Fake New” acolytes, with this recent trend the crescendo of cultural polarization dating back since the 1990’s. There is seemingly a bottomless pit for misinformation, as experts, public figures, and pundits have done 180’s on their positions in light of new or updated research. And there is every possible narrative amplified by the mainstream media and the Alt Right.

So, who is in the cross-hairs? Normies. Of course, we naturally distrust power because experts have knowledge we do not intimately possesses. Somehow, our institutions need to earn trust back by acknowledging mistakes and being transparent about their processes. In turn, normies need to reign in their their skepticism and mistrust of experts in an even handed manner, rather than get sucked into the vortex of misinformation. How? By way of media literacy through critical thinking.

Now, institutions have structural biases that must be acknowledged. Yet, alternative media sources are also littered with their own biases and have virtual no accountability. So to me the prioritization is getting people from across the ideological spectrum closer to the same reality of baseline facts and evidence. That needs to be the trajectory, rather than the current divergent trend into split realities. For example, what is the agreed upon definition of “anti-white”? “race realism”? “critical race theory”? “socialism”? “totalitarianism”? Would you and I agree be able to figure out what are the criteria for each term?

I understand that ideological divides will remain embedded in our society, but they should be discussed by way of mutually understood language and comparable information. Otherwise, initial conversations cannot get off the ground—people will continue talking past one another and escalating tension.

The fact that in a New England study 85% of first trimester pregnancies were terminated after getting a clot shot

This is a false conclusion based on poor reading comprehension leading to hasty maths.

The Health deRanger claims that 127 out of 827 women were jabbed in their first trimester, and 104 spontaneous abortions occurred during the first 20 weeks of all observed pregnancies. BUT, 827 is not the total number of women in the study, it is the total of all *completed* pregnancies (whether resulting in birth or miscarriage) among nearly *4000* total women, during a time period of only 2.5 months. More than *1000* of these women were vaccinated in their first trimester. This means that the rate of spontaneous abortion among these women who were jabbed in the first trimester was actually 104/1000+, about 10%, which is the natural baseline.

Let’s face it, most people would trust and even insert an “Anti-Covid” dildo in their ass if the media promoted it, or most of their neighbors were doing it, or if government and corporations mandated it, or if it was shown on TV as something cool and “scientific”.

For how long still will we have to watch this stupid Covid soap opera going on? I thought there was a limit to greed and evil, but apparently not.

  38. Gregory Hood: “… people don’t agree about what the “same evidence” means.”

This is key. It’s an epistemological problem we can model in two dimensions by saying “facts” are like dots on a sheet of paper. Theories, scientific or otherwise, are then like lines people draw to show how the “facts” seem to them to be connected. But if, as here, two parties can’t agree even on the same set of “facts”, debate is useless. Under these circumstances, the mantra “trust the science” is meaningless. For whose “science” is being referred to? Whose set of facts and theories? The covid controversy highlights this dilemma perfectly. People can’t even agree on the most basic “facts” about it. There’s doubt in some quarters that the virus even exists. Among those who accept its existence, there’s doubt about its seriousness. Among those who accept its seriousness, there’s doubt about what to do about it. Some think the so-called vaccines are worse than the disease. Others think they’re a godsend. For virtually every expert on one side of these questions, one can find another expert who claims the contrary. Laymen aren’t really even entitled to an opinion on these issues, since a basic premise of modern technological society is that the advice of experts on a given topic must be followed in order to obtain the best results. Dis-empowerment of non-experts, in effect making them slaves to a technocratic elite, is an inevitable consequence of technological civilization.

Gregory Hood: “Racial egalitarianism is the defining idea of modern America. It is faith, not science. It is something close to a religion.”

It resembles religion because its roots are in Christianity. It’s obviously not confined to “modern” America, since it dates back over a century and a half, when white, Christian America granted equal citizenship and the vote to negroes. To say that it’s faith, not science isn’t correct, strictly speaking. Proponents of racial egalitarianism have their “scientific” arguments too; they work from their own set of facts and theories; have their own ways of connecting the dots. This points up the prominent role of religion and other emotional factors in how people form theories and construct their worldviews, which in turn dictates how they organize their societies.

Reason and logic then jump out the nearest window as raw emotion takes the helm.

She’s been publicly active in exposing links between some vaccines and autism without much success. She did her due diligence. She, her husband, her two autistic children, and her non-autistic daughter all were vaccinated.

I also talked with a few people who were vaccinated, and had adverse reactions, including sore arms and a day’s worth of flu-like symptoms. None regretted their vaccination.

I waited three months after the Pfizer vaccine was introduced to see if there’d be accounts of adverse events, significant in quality or quantity, popping up in the media. I found nothing of any consequence.

Then I got my Pfizer shots.

So, are you suggesting that unvaxxed people get a non-mRNA vaccine?

  47. @obwandiyag

This is the trouble. You can’t find anything out. For instance:

I would like to know if Sputnik, Novavax and all the other non-mRNA vaccines are “leaky virus” vaccines.

Well, the first step is to not listen to people who lie in the first sentence of a comment, see the weekly raw all cause mortality data for the US here but note the most recent eight weeks are iffy because it takes that long for death certificates to trickle in from the states. Also correlate the figures with first and second doses of the mRNA vaccines, first doses of them which provide substantial protection had been going in seniors’ arms for weeks by “Biden’s” inauguration.

There’s no evidence the mRNA vaccines are any more leaky than all the vaccines that have a high upper efficacy figure, which tops out at around 95%. Obviously they will “leak” for the 5% for whom it fails. And Delta lowers all efficacy endpoints by ~7-10% or so, which is not good but not disastrous, in the same way natural immunity isn’t as good against it. Also don’t pay attention to people who lie about the mortality of Delta, the evidence is sparse so far, but it’s looking to be more lethal than Alpha for the same reasons Alpha is more deadly than classic Wuhan, and I haven’t seen any evidence it’s less lethal than Alpha.

Unlike the death figures and “Biden’s” inauguration I don’t expect you to take my word for it, but the studies are out there and paywalls have been dropped for COVID-19 science journal articles. Or look at previous vaccines; I haven’t done this systematically for this detail, but the only leaky one I know of in wide use for humans is the Salk type inactivated whole virus vaccine for polio (fecal-oral route, it doesn’t “sterilize” the gut like the Sabin type oral live virus, but that vaccine has its own issues).

Would not be surprised if as suspected by some the acellular pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine is leaky, as well as the other ones bundled with it in the TDaP vaccine. Rather than targeting the bacteria that cause tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis, they each target one toxin that each produces. That is, like the Salk type polio they target the worst symptom, in the latter case the virus getting beyond the gut and causing paralysis, not the pathogen itself.

This is very different than vaccines for agricultural animals where we don’t care so much what for example happens to unvaccinated chickens in a flock, there just shouldn’t be very many of them to begin with.

As for other COVID-19 vaccines, I don’t follow Janssen that closely, but seeing as how its one jab version is not intended to be the most effective vaccine, just the most effective on jab one it’ll obviously leak more than good two jab vaccines like the mRNA ones. Sputnik-V should be good, but the one jab Sputnik Light would share the same problem with Janssen. We as in individuals not in the relevant companies or regulatory bodies won’t start to know the answer about this for Novavax etc. until they get further along in the authorization process and we can see their submissions as well as FDA staff analysis papers.

This is an interesting line of thought, but I’m not convinced. The case of the leaky vaccine whacking the chooks with Mareck’s disease has one feature absent in the Corona Chan “vaccines” – the chook vaccine might have been leaky, but it at least worked to protect the vaccinated chooks. You unfortunately appear to have rolled snake eyes, except for the implied recovery to whatever degree you recovered.

One of the issues with any drug or biologic like a vaccine administered to a large group of people is that some will be sickened, maimed, or killed by it, and Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disease that targets nerves, has been associated with some vaccines at very low rates, it would not be surprising at all if the 1976 vaccine triggered it (my issue is those who blew it out of proportion to take out Gerald Ford). I’m sorry to hear you were probably one of those, glad to hear you at least escaped the hospital, and of course the worst concerns about that swine flu outbreak did not materialize.

I wonder if this episode was part of the “Russian flu” that as far as we can tell came from a Soviet or PRC lab leak in that period. H1N1 that had been on ice based on its genetic sequence reappeared after getting successively replaced in the late 1950s with H2N2 and in the late 1960s H3N2. You were in the age range of people who’d never been exposed to H1N1, so vaccinating you wasn’t senseless, and since then we’ve had to include proteins from both H1N1 and H3N2 in flu vaccines.

For COVID-19, getting the disease looks like it can trigger Guillain-Barré syndrome, you’d expect that because it’s presenting plenty of antigens to people’s adaptive immune systems, which is the sort of thing vaccines by definition do. In all cases there’s a chance of one of those systems making a mistake and attacking some part of the human body. And of course it happens spontaneously or apparently so, my Silent Generation father had that start happening to his red blood cells in his early 80s.

So while it’s “heartless” as some people claim, or unacceptable to those who have no tolerance for risk/benefit tradeoffs to give vaccines to large populations knowing some will suffer and die, it’s still considered necessary when we’re talking about the really bad pathogens like tetanus or SARS-CoV-2. I do hope everyone is getting their TDaP booster every 10 years, lockjaw is an ugly way to die.

“Yes, a world where everyone is guided by facts and evidence sounds desirable.”

We are guided by facts and evidence, it’s just how we interpret them and the extent by which we are driven to be as objective as humanly possible about a topic or issue. How do you refrain from being a slave of confirmation bias?

“But as long as science, education, journalism and government are corrupted by ideology…”

How are your views in those areas other than “corrupted”?

“and dedicated to untruth and manipulation, it’s hard to imagine any way to accomplish that.”

That would be an assumption on your part.

“There is no way around it: the institutions have to be recaptured and purged.”

So how is that any different than what is allegedly taking place now? In other words, would not this process entail engaging in “untruths” and “manipulation”?

“Then, and only then, can facts, evidence and genuine science be restored as public values.”

So, the version of facts and evidence you and your ilk support? And what exactly is “genuine science”?

  54. @gay troll

A well thought out comment. However, the first sentence leads us to some critical questions.

COVID deaths and cases started plummeting as soon as Biden was inaugurated.

Is the disease really as bad as we have been told? Forget infection rates. The only thing that matters is the increase in death rates over the normal average rate. The total number of sneezes is of no concern.

Or was this just an an example of that old socialist political axiom, “never let a good disaster go to waste”.

Remember that we only know about the existence of “Covid” because we have been inundated with a cacaphony of breathless reportage on every reporting device for the last year and a half. The noise level has been deafening.

Has anyone noticed the precipitious dropoff in influenza deaths coincident with the rise in Covid deaths? Is there any connection?

If we are exposed to television news, it’s the first thing we hear about in the morning and the last thing we hear about in the evening. Just how many new “cases” have been reported. All wrapped around the latest hollywood softcore porn entertainment.

Oh well. I guess it was all worth it if that scoundrel Trump was defeated.

In the end, it’s all about the politics and who gets to hand out the money.

And who it gets handed to. Probably political donors. You know, them. The people who donated the most. Them.

  55. @dindunuffins

Forget infection rates. The only thing that matters is the increase in death rates over the normal average rate.

You’re neglecting morbidity, which includes very significant increases in mortality for thirty day survivors in the following six months. Fear of significant life limiting morbidity has driven my “non-pharmaceutical interventions” (NPIs) like switching to Walmart grocery delivery a lot more than fear of dying from COVID-19, which while elevated due to my age is still pretty low.

Has anyone noticed the precipitious dropoff in influenza deaths coincident with the rise in Covid deaths? Is there any connection?

Not sure how you can be honestly posing this as a question on Unz.com, it’s been trumpeted by anti-vaxxers and general COVID deniers since we started noticing it in the beginning of the 2020-2021 Northern Hemisphere flu season. Some people see something axiomatically sinister in this phenomena, those of a scientific bent ask “why??” NPIs are a good guess for at least part of the answer. While it doesn’t appear that washing your hands is a major way to protect yourself from COVID-19 (but one in one thousand chances add up), as taught to me by my pre-antibiotics Silent Generation parents it’s a generally good practice, and could well be a factor in this.

Oh well. I guess it was all worth it if that scoundrel Trump was defeated.

That’s the sad funny thing about this. The sabotage of our COVID-19 response starting with for example the CDC and FDA sandbagging of testing failed, our ruling trash had to switch to their very overt in your face Plan B late on election night. Thus further trashing their credibility, and making it all the harder to figure out what we should actually do in response to COVID-19. (Or with Delta, should we drop the date, or update it to -20??)

I don’t know what you’re talking about because you don’t write very well.

I do suspect that evidence of such un-felicitous information is often hard to find, nay, generally suppressed, as is evidence of worse information you or I don’t even know about.

The evolution of reasonings (yes, plural) for routine circumcision according to the public are interesting to review. It took hold in the late 1920’s (the 1910’s in Texas where it was used to define Anglo vs Latino). The 1920’s was a time when there was a semiconscious desire among Americans to cut from the past – a Europe now in ugly turmoil, its immigrants filthy smelly and resembling a shoeless West Virginian. That idea wore off and inane ideas such as “cleaning up the dirtiest inch of my now designer nursery” or, later, the fake “medical advice” of the late forties and fifties (to avoid a bladder infection – which are rare in boys but nobody asked). By the late 50’s or so…”I want it to look like his father’s” [never mind that the size & shape of a penis is X gene stuff – from mom’s side; the Y only turns it into a penis, nothing more; if it’s gonna resemble anyones, hon, it’s your brother’s] and women in those days rarely even ever saw their hubby’s unit; sex was under the covers, lights out for most. And for petesakes, nobody ever asked why those uncircumcised European men and boys (or those in the US born at home) didn’t suffer from bladder infections, didn’t look or smell like immigrants on Ellis Island, or heck, have their uncircumcised penes dry up and fall off and roll into the gutter because they weren’t circumcised. An obvious question but never brought up. Interestingly, even the uncircumcised father had zero say in it. The foreskin was deemed nothing more than a baby toenail, if that. So, clipping that baby boy’s penis amounted to a classic example of conformity. Nobody could come up with a reason for it. But it still goes on – even today. Even after all the bru-hah-hah about what moslems do in Africa with girls’ naughty parts. And the gasps of western women when they hear about that!

What surprises me is that, as of yet, with the legal field now in full bloom, outdoing the medical profession by leaps and bounds, even controlling it, there hasn’t yet emerged lawsuits against parents that allowed genital mutilation of a child unable to sign a consent. Where is that? Today’s generation depends on inheritance money just to even buy a starter home. Why wait? Get it while you’re still young enough to enjoy that piece of property. By 50 or so, they own that home and have a fat nest egg! I presume the right (male) judges would go along. And the retainer fees would feed lawyers almost as well as the Vatican did – and unlike the priest molesting thing (no proof needed) – in this case, you got proof, just show it – in court. Heck. Easy schmeasy.

Specifically. Why would they push to vaccinate children and infants for whom the fatality rate is near zero?

  61. @ThreeCranes

Depends on whether they have good reason to believe they have evidence that kids this young can catch and transmit the disease, plus see teachers, in the US they’re not exactly a profile in courage in this pandemic. And in terms of R&D and testing it’s vital to find out now if they tolerate it well, which of course does not then call for mass vaccinations today.

Already we vaccinate for the rubella, AKA German measles, which as far as I can tell is pretty benign for them, I’m old enough to have gotten it naturally without complications. As I understand it, we do this to create herd immunity for pregnant women, it’s bad for their child if they get it then. Per Wikipedia “During the epidemic in the U.S. between 1962 and 1965, rubella virus infections during pregnancy were estimated to have caused 30,000 stillbirths and 20,000 children to be born impaired or disabled as a result of [congenital rubella syndrome].”

Some minor conflicts can be explained away but reversals, glaring hypocracies, demands for silencing of dissent, hurling of accusations, and arguements with your supporters, PUBLICLY arguing with your supporters like the White House politburo did in arguing with the Bezos Post are all great ways to permanently dismantle your credibility, and that is what they have done.

  76. Basically, it is very simple: science is not democratic. The opinions of “a majority” or “most” scientists are not necessarily the truth, for the simple reason that science is based on evidence and pure logic, not on opinions. As Giambattista Vico once put it, you have scienza (the hard sciences) which give certainty (lo certo), and coscienza (“co-science” or “conscience”), which produces accepted truth (lo vero).

The very fact that an army of “fact checkers” suppresses any opinion at variance with government-supported “science” is proof that this is not science, because science needs open debate like humans need oxygen.

Whatever the dimwitted and evil scum that are in power are telling us, whether they are called Joe, Kamala, Angela, Boris, or whatever, it is all propaganda.

And after plaining stating that they direct you to a FDA EUA page with over 200 authorized PCR tests, including what they recommend people move to, a test that checks for both SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A and B (they have one of their own in that list), it’s not much extra work for someone doing a manual test, and since almost all testing is now automated, incrementally very little more for those. Jews and Anglos led a relentless propaganda campaign to demonize Germany in order to get the American people to hate Germans enough to kill them. For no reason — no casus belli — at all, just the Bandwagon effect at work.

Covid propaganda is and has been ubiquitous and relentless. Most of the outlets for Covid propaganda are controlled by Jews.

The first response “International Jewry” had to the rise of a leader who could organize people to oppose attempted Jewish dominance was to attempt to economically bankrupt the people — with the Jewish-led economic boycott of Germany.

The first thing that happened in USA in response to a propagandized disease was to close down and bankrupt thousands of Main Street businesses — commercial bankruptcies increased by almost 30% in 2020 (compared to 2019).

There are dozens of other direct comparisons of Jewish activity re WWII to this “WWII redux,” but you get the idea.

Several years ago Phil Weiss @Mondoweiss wrote an essay stating that “Jews are now the American Elite.” After two generations of hating on the WASP elite and contending to subvert and supplant them, Jews have now succeeded: Jews of Weiss’s generation are in charge.

At about the same time, Jane Eisner, then-editor of the Jewish Forward, made identical remarks in a speech.

Since arm-twisting Arthur Balfour to give to Jews what was not England’s to give; undermining Wilson at Versailles; bribing Churchill to dismantle the British empire to satisfy zionist wishes; inciting Americans to pay for and carry out the slaughter of their own European forebears; to 9/11 by which Jewish zionists and their American patsies deployed American blood and treasure to destroy resistance to Jewish dominance; jewish zionists have gone from strength to strength.

With the Covid campaign, Zionist Jews are signalling to the American people that WE ARE IN CHARGE; you have been conquered.

Male genital mutilation (the correct term for circumcision) was promoted by the jews themselves in order to dilute the ability of governments to identify and categorize jews as an “ethnic group”.
This barbaric procedure was promoted to gentiles under the false premise that those infants who were subject to this procedure were “cleaner” and less likely to contract “diseases”…a totally false premise.
Let’s not forget that jews forbid being “counted”, even the U S census prohibits categorizing jews as an “ethnic group”.
This was all by design. The jew-run medical profession gets to make additional shekels while using this procedure to hide jews from being “identified” as such, “killing two birds with one stone”.
The one aspect that (thankfully) separates jewish male genital mutilation from the medical aspect is the practice of the dirty “mohel” fellating the infant (metzitzah b’peh) after the deed is done. You can bet that many STDs are transmitted from the “mohel” to the infant. As many STDs do not manifest themselves until early adulthood, it is easy to see the prevalence of STD-caused (undiagnosed) mental illnesses in many jewish males.
Male genital mutilation needs to be outlawed. If jews want to continue this barbaric practice, ((they)) can go to israel to have it done.

Giving people without co-morbidities an untested medication that could cause serious side effects is criminal.

That would indeed be an issue, if these vaccines were untested. How can you possibly expect anyone who’s followed their clinical trials and emergency use authorization processes to believe such a bald lie?

but we already see that in Israel 60% of those hospitalized have taken the shot

When you’ve vaccinated enough of your people, especially the most vulnerable populations (not counting the ultra-Orthadox last time I checked), by definition breakthrough infections are going to dominate hospitalizations when you have a variant that transmits a lot better, is likely for the same reason a lot more deadly, both true of Alpha, and adds some immune escape mutations. I’d ask about total hospitalizations compared to before the vaccine, but Delta makes that not a useful metric; instead see their health ministry claim tjat protection from hospitalization has gone done only 7 percentage points (which on an absolute scale is a lot higher).

This is an experiment that is failing. Why do you insist on pushing it?

This is an “experiment” that is succeeding wildly, as I can attest to just from my local region. We’re now exceeding previous hospitalization peeks which were very bad, and deaths are starting to go up, but it’s almost entirely the unvaccinated in this very Red State part of US flyover country. Those hospitalized populations are also a lot younger, a reflection of a much greater uptake of vaccinations by the elderly.

Stepping back a bit, we’re going to be seeing months if not years of this insanity as the virus continues to adapt better to humans, vaccines need adjustment or just an extra boost dose as Israel is doing for those over 60 for the obvious reason, etc. Pretty soon I’m going to have to go back to ignoring Unz.com discussion because exposing yourself to endless retardation is just not healthy, let alone useful.

Instead of considering these likelihoods, the health agencies and Big Pharma shills are trying to achieve universal vaccination for profit reasons and are ignoring the evidence of the mass outbreak of Covid illnesses among the fully vaccinated.

How do you get from quickly exhausted and recycled mRNA in the outer part of cells to permanent DNA incorporated into a chromosome inside the nucleus?

Are you aware of how this normally works, DNA is transcribed into mRNA inside the nucleus, which then travels outside of it to where proteins are made using the mRNA template? All “active” vaccines are means to the end of getting some mRNA to make viral proteins; you should be more worried about the adenovirus vector vaccines which are DNA viruses and do there DNA stuff inside the nucleus.

It’s not just moving the goalposts after you blatantly lied claiming they were “untested medication,” it’s a lie full stop. And thus “a disputed fact.”

If you actually knew anything about the subject matter you’d know the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) or its foreign equivalents that allowed it to be marketed prior to approval where what was not “normal,” but they were long existing for such emergencies, and used for Ebola as an example. The data for that ongoing process, though, was generated through standard clinical trials.

So if people get the shot and are hospitalized it’s because they were “vulnerable”.

You severely lack the skill of reading comprehension. If they get vaccinated and contract COVID-19 two weeks after the last dose it’s because the vaccine failed for them. From memory for Israel’s health ministry, prevention of hospitalization for Delta went down from 99.9% or just a bit lower to 93.2%. As far as I know (the ministry has yet to show us their work) these people still have better outcomes than the unvaccinated, but obviously for that endpoint for the population in question, which is weighted vulnerable, for general populations everyone starts vaccinating the elderly, while the vaccine is still very effective it’s failing at a 6.8% rate instead of 0.1% or a bit more.

But that’s not needed to create variants or maybe new strains today, Alpha and Delta didn’t arise in the context of population ecological pressure, were found months before their respective countries of origin started their vaccination campaigns, but are believed to have done so inside a single human body.

” the question posed by dindunuffins about the shocking drop off in flu deaths with an almost equal increase in deaths attributed to CV-19″

Let me answer that for you. Look at Taiwan, NZ and Australia that had great drop in influenza cases while they had very few covid cases. They did not absorb influenza cases into the covid statistics to inflate them as some dindunuffins would like to believe. The drop of flu cases was real. Some influenza strains even went extinct or at least they could not have been found during last year season.

Influenza cases reduction provides a direct evidence that masking, social distancing and lockdowns work. If we did masking and social distancing every flu seasons we could make a greater impact on influenza than vaccinations. Why don’t we do it while many Asian countries are big on masking during influenza season. One possible answer is that the Big Pharma does not really like masking as it prefers selling annual vaccines rather than cheap masks than any low tech company can produce. And CDC is on board or in pocket of the Big Pharma on the issue of masking as their poo-pooing of masks and masking early in 2020 demonstrated. And the second is that masking work best when the effort is concerted and almost universal while vaccines are perceived as individual (egoistic not altruistic) countermeasure. Americans have strong libertarian streak and usually are against concerted efforts and thus there are way too many defectors from concerted efforts.

This brings me to the apparent paradox that the anti-masking and the anti-lockdown crowd has great overlap with the anti-vaccine crowd. One could say that all the anti masking and anti lockdown yapping by all kinds of activists and over excited people that we have seen so much last year and still do is done on the behalf of the Big Pharma. The anti masking and anti lockdowns people must be either the useful idiots or the paid shills of Big Pharma. There is no other option.

Influenza cases reduction provides a direct evidence that masking, social distancing and lockdowns work.

Alternatively, they provide direct evidence that some people’s sensible lifestyle changes vrought about by a “pandemic” actually work. The effective parts of which may be independent of, or not caused by, mandated lockdowns, social distancing and, especially, masking.

This may seem counter-intuitive, but consider a pandemic where the IFR was 100%. You would need no government mandated measures at all to stamp it out, nor masking.

Everyone would see the facts of 100% IFR and act the same, but it isn’t surprising that, especially across cultures and countries, that people see the facts of a 0.5%(?) IFR and make very different decisions.

Not necessarily the “same”, and much of the success that is accredited to the lockdowns may actually be the result of other behavioural changes, even beyond those which were mandated.

This topic is very complicated because behaviour is complicated, even lockdowns themselves are multi-faceted with parts of them having ill first order effects on Covid transmission as well as parts having good ones.

What is your take on the J & J vaccine

Unless you have a pathological fear of needles, in its current one jab form it’s absolutely not for pretty much anyone reading this. Janssen started as early as anyone else like Moderna including starting clinical testing in March 2020 (helps it’s a platform they’ve used for the first dose of their Ebola vaccine), and took their time to make the very best single dose vaccine, with the goal of vaccinating a billion people in 2021. Which has hit the hard wall of of manufacturing stuff in human cell cultures, plus of course supply chain issues unique to all cell culture vaccines and all vaccines.

So in the US it might good for the “homeless” you’re not at all certain you can get a timely second dose into, but otherwise was good Operation Warp Speed insurance if other vaccines didn’t work, or took a long time to get to work. But that one jab goal right off the bat means all its efficacy endpoints are significantly lower than the two dose, prime plus boost mRNA ones, and I think I remember seeing that it was thought to hold true for Delta as well, but don’t take any of my figures for Delta to the bank, especially as early as all that is. So I just don’t pay much attention to it. That said:

that seems to have about 5-10 higher rate of Guillain-Barre syndrome than influenza vaccines?

That autoimmune disease is at very low rates long associated with vaccines, including flu, although the latter in 20/20 hindsight was mostly an op against Gerald Ford like the one tried against Trump.

I could not find information on GBS and mRNA vaccines.

Pretty sure with the massive numbers of mRNA vaccines administered we’d have heard if their was a GBS adverse effect correlation with them. So far as far as I know beside the universal ones like anaphylaxis as an extreme, aside from the heart inflammation in young men they’re so far believed to be free of unexpected side effects. The advantages of simplicity, a short period of producing its antigen, and likely using a stabilized spike protein.

Such laziness not surprisingly contributes to your idée fixe about me and vaccines in general, where there’s a host of examples of these vaccines doing good to fair jobs against Delta, and obvious answers for the Israeli hospitalization rates if you had the brains God gave little mice.

What the devil do you think happens when a country pays top dollar, 50% more than the US, to get to the head of the line to vaccinate its rather small population, only a million more than NYC? This does things to the populations that can possibly get COVID-19!!!

You also seem to be completely unaware that 95% efficacy against classic Wuhan or Alpha, and lower for Delta means 5% failure or more. From memory, the Israeli health ministry recently said the decrease of efficacy in avoiding hospitalization is about 7 percentage points in line with worldwide results. That’s clearly one reason they’re going for a second boost dose for those over 60, who as I would hope you know don’t have as good immune systems as younger folks, but your ignorance seems to be pretty comprehensive.

Society has changed while nobody was looking. These attacks against us are the result of a communal, collective mindset that has crept into the public consciousness and adulterated the thinking of tens of millions of so-called Americans. The trouble is, they are no longer Americans. They are members of the Karen-SS, they are members of the group hivemind, they regurgitate memes from the NPC echo chamber.

In effect, we are dealing with a collective morality. These people make their decisions on that basis. Collective morality has replaced historical Americans who lived their lives as rugged, authority-averse individuals with individual morality and personal responsibility. That is also the basis of traditional Christian morality, which has been subverted by the Heresy of Niceness and Equality, both of which are predicated on collective consciousness.

Individual morality is person to person, not a member’s responsibility to the group, which is what the State is trying to foist off on us. If I personally decide not to get vaccinated, whereas someone else decides they’re going to be protected by getting the jab, then what the hell difference does it make to them as an individual about what I individually decide to do? And if grandma down the street has individually decided (or her family) to not get vaxxed, then she is taking her personal chances along with me. The vaxxed may believe the government is their trustworthy buddy, but if it just so happens they’ve been lied to, then don’t take it out on me. If their vaxx isn’t protecting them as promised, then they are ipso facto personally contageous, the same as what they accuse me of being.

The trouble is, trying to reason with a collective mindset is close to impossible. That’s why the 20th century was filled with gulags and genocides perpetrated by socialists. The only way to deal with the assimilated, is to physically stop them, one way or another.

Why anti-vaxxers are not screaming that J & J vaccine is 10 times more dangerous in terms of giving you GBS than regular flu vaccine? Is it because they only obsess with mRNA vaccines?

That would be my guess. Despite virus vector vaccines being very new, previously only used for two Ebola vaccines, and only one of those tried out for real in an epidemic which wasn’t the Janssen one, I’m guessing to some they sound more like “traditional” ones. Not to include those so ignorant they believe inactivated whole virus vaccines are the true “trad” ones. The experience with the Oxford platform and its unstabilized spike protein (perhaps) should disabuse them of this notion, but that’s not going to happen in the US, probably never due to its bad efficacy and side effect profiles compared to the current authorized alternatives and what we’re hearing about Novavax and Sanofi V2.0, and their having lost their US manufacturing capability thanks to Emergent BioSolutions, not really their fault.

The not entirely unexpected correlation? finding? of GBS from the Janssen vaccine would likely just reinforce those who refuse to consider taking any vaccine under any circumstances except for those who credulously trust Russia more than the rest of the West. which strikes me as an iffy bet given their lack of transparency and making it a political football. But, yeah, it’s the mRNA ones that are axiomatically evil even though they’re a much cleaner and and so far safer way to get some mRNA to make virus proteins inside cells compared to the the non-Russian adenovirus vector vaccines, Janssen’s and AZ/SSI/Oxford’s. The people against them include plenty who previously did college level math but forget the most basic of things like DNA->mRNA->proteins, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to remind them of that, or teach it to the ones who never learned it, it’s all “genes” to them. Anti-GMO propaganda certainly hasn’t helped yet is used by many anti-vaxxers, not that it’s relevant to mRNA vaccines, these people don’t realize the adenovirus vector vaccines use DNA inside your cell nucleus, placing them a lot closer to what really counts as your genes.

Right now the higher estimates for CV-19 deaths in the US places it above 600k whereas some lower claims place it as only 350k. The highest estimates that I’ve ever heard attributed to the flu are on the order of 60k. Obviously it is not true that the CV-19 deaths easily line up with flu deaths.

Really, once it’s accepted that excess deaths have been occurring over and above what death rates from the 5 years 2015-9 would have forecast then the issue of flu deaths becomes a diversion. Whenever excess deaths are calculated this always implicitly takes into account a certain normal death rate for the flu that is expected. If it turns out that there were no flu deaths recorded but that the death rate overall has risen to excess then this does not mean that one can attribute the excess deaths to the flu.

Look at Taiwan, NZ and Australia… Influenza cases reduction provides a direct evidence that masking, social distancing and lockdowns work.

Work to do what? We’ve lived with influenza (and countless other viruses) for >4M years and we’re gonna start locking ourselves up now? To what end? Any?

    Moving on to the particulars…
Taiwan didn’t lock down until mid-May 2021. It didn’t do much social distancing either. Schools, businesses, etc remained fully open throughout 2020 and the first 4.5 months of 2021. How does advance your thesis?

The recent lockdown occurred because the cordon sanitaire that Taiwan implemented early was relaxed and cases were apparently imported. The May 2021 lockdown indeed mandated masking, closed schools, public places and churches, but has otherwise allowed people to go about their business. It’s being relaxed as we type. How does it advance your thesis?

As you well know from the Roberts thread, most of Australia didn’t lock down either. Outside of Victoria, you could hardly tell there was a pandemic. Was the drop in influenza deaths restricted to Victoria? If not, how does that advance your thesis?

What you also learned on the other thread but also failed to bring across is that all 3 of your examples are islands. In fact, most of the top 50 “COVID performers” were islands. Islands are easy. They have a geographically defined cordon sanitaire around them that they need but to close a few airports to make 100% airtight.

Utu, ya got tossed out of the P.C. Roberts thread for incessantly repeating your mystifications, scientisms and a grab bag of assorted MSM rubbish. To pop up here re-cycling it all is patently Troll-ish behaviour pattern. It’s also still boring.

A leaky vaccine prevents an infected person from having the worst outcomes, but it does not prevent them from becoming infected. Thus, this person exhibiting symptoms and shedding viruses will spread a variety of viruses for longer than they would have. As well, because the particular virus here discussed, SARS-CoV-2, is a vehicle for Spike, the S protein that binds to a variety of receptors inside human bodies, this particular virus will also move into many different body parts in many different vaccinated people and cause many different debilitating but not always immediately fatal, call them chronic, diseases. The vaccinated people will slowly die off, spreading different versions of the viruses they are carrying as they go, but the overall increase in viral shedding and the depth of their penetration into society will mean fewer and fewer places to isolate from the viruses and more and more places with higher and higher overall exposure to the viruses for those who do not have (leaky or otherwise) vaccinations.

Those unvaccinated people are like all the animals who went unvaccinated in the experiments where Antibody Dependent Enhancement occurred due to leaky vaccines. All those animals died.

They already know this is what will happen. That is why the script tells them to say “Pandemic of the Unvaccinated.” They believed their own lies and thought this is what was happening. It was what they were told will happen and why they accepted it, joined in, and are now a bit worried. gay troll is right: as the rates of vaccination reached a certain threshold, the unvaccinated —the people who resist Authority or Think Independently or Remain Indifferent— were going to start dying off, prompting more fear and more scapegoating and more credibility to those who predicted millions stricken and dying. It’s not quite happening out that way, not yet. The vaccinated people are starting to sicken too fast, too much. The unvaccinated people are still too many, and they are already taking their own preventative measures to boost their immune systems, to choose a more natural death. This interferes just enough with ADE to offset the enhancement.

So, you’re right that “tptb” are incompetent and stupid. But gay troll is right that there are going to be a lot of deaths, a lot of disruptions. Part of this is because the people who played “tptb” are up against different contenders, both spiritually and materially. Another part is because you have a choice and a say in how all this works out. You get to choose our future. If you are smarter and more competent than the powers, let it reflect in your choices.

Wake up! There has been a “power grab” in the USA at least since November 22, 1963 – when President John F. Kennedy was murdered, and NOT by Lee Harvey Oswald, either.

The fact that Americans possess weapons and ammunition does not mean anything. All that the federal government (and the states) would have to do would be to deploy some troops. The big question would be whether or not federal and state troops would fire on their own citizens. Comparing the relative firepower of government agencies with that of American citizens is not even worth commenting on.

So, now, the history of routine circumcision of goys in modern times:

The birth of routine circumcision (some time before Jews took over the medical profession in the US) was the Kellogg boys in Battle Creek and their eventual association with the Mayos in MN (or were they still in PA). It’s an interesting story (even a bit porno if you dig deep enough) and began with the one (unmarried) Kellogg brother who, like the others, attended (male) patients at the health spa the Kelloggs ran in the 1880’s. Walks with (male) patients through the shrubby hinterland of the establishment were apparently routine. I’ll leave the rest up to your imagination. In any event, apparently one of the Kellogg’s drives to associate with the Mayos was the latter’s expertise with adult circumcision, a heretofore rarely performed surgical procedure, previously confined largely to diabetics with severe phimosis (which does happen). The Kelloggs (for some reason) sought otherwise – they were advocates of routine c’cisions to be carried out before the thing got too diseased (or as one critic stated “distasetful?”). By the onset of the 20th century, elective adult circumcision was obtainable in a number of medical centers – initially a status symbol and nothing much more; and yet, mysteriously, most men came out of the Kellogg health colony circumcised (which, btw, was the curiosity that prompted research into this process.) Understandably Jew doctors grabbed the ring, cleverly made up excuses for it, and we know the rest of the story.

  195. We need a patriotic ruling class that wants to solve problems, scientists led by the data and not politics, trustworthy institutions, and honest journalists.

The probability of that in the US is zero, zilch, nada. Meet “the science”, as trustworthy as “Mein kampf”.

  196. I don’t reject science, I reject anything which cannot pass the test of science. Science is the natural result of reason and curiosity. Once the word “Science” referred to dogma. Such as that defined by and defended by The Church. On pain of censure and torture true men of science suffered until the enlightenment. Since Francis Bacon, 400 years science has been rightly regarded as not dogma but a process. The rules are simple and rigid, but they serve to lend the title of science to any endeavor that meets the criteria and so render themselves flexible enough to have stood the test of time.

No authority exists with exclusive right to define “The Science”, because in the process of science a hypothesis only becomes a theory when supported by the evidence. The evidence, for a theory must be freely accessible and any evidence or claims must be open to challenge. It goes without saying that, censorship has no place in science and when encountered everything beyond that point is irreconcilable with science.

Scientific proof is a myth. If someone tells you a thing is scientifically proved, that person is scientifically illiterate. Any theory can be disproved, a single bit of new evidence can do it but it takes evidence, open debate, repeatable tests and data to even keep a hypothesis alive. Not government decree! That is no different to Church decree. Proof is elusive always, because we never know what we don’t know.

Science is like Truth, it can only be stronger from challenges. Only Dogma and Lies need censorship. The understanding of this and applying it to our lives is what marked our exit from the Dark Ages in reality. The application of the pure practice of science to the best of human reason and ability. Despite invoking Science as the prime driver of the modern cults of Climate Change and COVID, there is no science in either. Both are driven by dogma and all the attendant trappings of dogma and inquisitions. The science does not belong exclusively to anyone, it is a collective and by definition free and open exchange of ideas.

Six Month Safety And Efficacy of the BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine

    https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.07.28.21261159v1.full.pdf

    tl;dr
According to Pfizer, the mRNA vaccine is losing efficacy at about 6% every two months.

The head of the CDC has admitted that vaccinated people can contract the virus, and shed the virus – vaccinated people can spread SARS-2.

I must thank and commend Mr. Ron Unz for so graciously allowing these discussions to continue. After all the vicious personal attacks he has endured, his patience is remarkable. I think that this clearly vindicates those of us who understood the cause of his irritation, and who therefore had aspersions cast in our direction.

In the above article, Mr. Hood squarely addresses a point that Mr. Unz stated in bold letters in his interview with Mr. Whitney:

I come from a scientific background and I prefer to believe in reality.

I consider myself to be scientifically-minded; and I insist on believing in reality. But Mr. Unz, we have an epistemological problem which, in turn, relates to the sociological problem of mass belief.

With apologies for quoting myself at some length, this part of my much longer penultimate comment on the interview thread is really more relevant here:

Institutions are to blame for their lack of people’s trust in them—whether it be the medical community, or the government, or the mass media, or academia, or… When they pretend otherwise, it is narcissistic, sociopathic, and incredibly conceited. Trust and credibility must be earned, not demanded; and such things are so easily lost…

When I was a child, I was skeptical of what I was told at church; and I saw that the Bible is obviously a hoax, riddled from start to finish with absurdities and internal contradictions…. When I see that someone on the Internet writes “MD” after his name, I pause and examine whether he really looks like a doctor. Yes, I am a skeptic. Earlier on this page, I described myself as a “vaccine skeptic”. I had not seen that term anywhere else, although it is probably used elsewhere; it simply seemed logical to me.

Skepticism of credentialed scientists is healthy. For an extreme example, career professional swindler Uri Geller convinced some “scientists” at the Stanford Research Institute that he possessed psychic powers warranting further investigation. They took him seriously in the pages of a learned journal (Targ, R. and Puthoff, H. (1974). “Information transmission under conditions of sensory shielding”. Nature 251(5476), 602-607. doi:10.1038/251602a0. PMID 4423858 for the medical experts.). Their results included such remarkable claims as “an a priori probability, under the null hypothesis of no information channel, of P = (10!)⁻¹ = 3 × 10⁻⁷” (Id. at 604).

All of the involved “scientists”, including Nature’s editorial board, should have resigned their positions in disgrace and committed seppuku, when stage magician James Randi revealed Mr. Geller’s tricks. What happened instead was that there was a little scandal, most people forgot a very important lesson, and Mr. Geller continued to peddle lucrative hokum around the world for decades before he retired to his native Tel Aviv. He is a famous humanitarian, a philanthropist, and an exemplary specimen of Jewish stereotypes.

Nowadays, Nature repudiates the theory of sexual dimorphism. There are mainstream medical and legal experts who claim that it is child abuse to not give puberty-blocking injections to impuberate children who are “diagnosed” as “gender dysphoric”. The whole scientific establishment long ago repudiated the theory of evolution, and indeed, the laws of heredity, preferring instead what I call the slightly less ridiculous Western counterpart of Lysenkoism. At this late, post-civilizational date, I fear that if “scientists” ever notice that oppressed racial minorities and gender-nonconforming persons are sometimes injured in falls, Nature will run an article scientifically repudiating the law of gravity. Please remind me—I forget—did Mr. Geller ever claim to have powers of levitation?

Of course, just because credentialed scientists are sometimes very wrong does not mean that they are not usually right. That is a concept too subtle for mediocre minds—evidence: this thread.

My skepticism does not stop at questioning mainstream scientists, the medical establishment, the mass media, the government, the Jews, and other bêtes noires of stereotypical conspiracy theorists.

Skepticism of conspiracy theories is very healthy. From my long experience studying conspiracy theories, I conclude that there are two types of conspiracy theorists: Those who “want to believe” in a rebellious proposition, versus those who are ruthlessly skeptical—skeptical of established narratives, and skeptical of all theories purporting to offer secret truths.

In an infinitely complex universe, the science of mere mortals can barely touch the surface of all possible knowledge; and even for the greatest genius, it is impossible within the span of a human lifetime for one individual to acquire total expertise, even in the small scientific knowledge that humans possess. Perforce, a man must rely on other men.

Considered as a social process, science worked when scientists were honorable. But academic decay is far progressed; the academic mind renounced truth as a principle long ago; and thus, scholarship has become unreliable.

Without wishing here to expound too much on the philosophy of science, or philosophy more generally, this obviously leaves scientific minds in a sort of an epistemological twilight zone.

Mainstream “science” now embraces not one, but two propositions that are even more ridiculous than Flat Earth theory. Even when others knew better, tribes of primitive savages (such as the authors of the Old Testament) believed that the Earth was flat. It is a stupid belief, which fails to explain such obvious phenomena as the visible horizon; but it is not an insane belief, inasmuch as you can stand on the ground, look around you, and not see any visible curvature. In contrast, even the dumbest brutes could always observe the bare fact that humans exist in remarkably different types—and that not only all humans, but all mammals are divided into two sexes. The very most primitive savages never realized a causal connection between sexual intercourse and pregnancy; but I presume that they must have dimly realized that men cannot get pregnant.

Modern “science” has done worse than to regress to the Stone Age beliefs of mindless primitives. Furthermore, “scientists” have embraced beliefs that are far more irrational than religious faith in unprovable propositions. As I otherwise noted:

Obiter dictum, I remark that Professor Oliver Z”L had a most excellent analogy. Paraphrasing it, with some of my own adjustments: Christianity was like believing that the moon is made of green cheese, when no one could go to the moon to find out. The liberals’ denial of racial differences is like believing that the ocean is made of maple syrup.

It is for this reason that I refuse to debate the basic reality of racial differences—never mind sexual dimorphism! It is not only reasonable, but necessary and meritorious to investigate and debate the nature and extent of racial differences. But I do not waste my time debating Flat Earthers, “cultural anthropologists”, or other Maple Syrup Oceaners who declare that race is genetically a difference of mere “skin tone”, and is otherwise only a social construct.

Overall, it is those who are most scientifically-minded who must now face the epistemological problem: Which scientists can we trust as authoritative, on subjects for which we cannot spare some years to study for ourselves? On the same grounds, despite my general contempt for the masses, I cannot blame average people for distrusting scientific experts. The distrust itself is far more rational than so much that passes for “science” nowadays.

    __________

The pseudoscientific denial of race not only speaks to the general credibility of the scientific establishment: It has a more direct relevance to the vaccine debate.

Working scientists have a longstanding mental habit of denying the theory of evolution, whenever and however political correctness so requires. On this particular subject, their whole thought process is as corrupt and unreliable as that of “intelligent design” advocates—some of whom weave rather sophisticated nonsense rationalizing their position. On the subject of the Covid vaccines, this mental habit could be fatal.

A new selective pressure was applied to the virus. New variants have been appearing, with significant immune escape. Is this mere happenstance? Correlation without causality?

The potential implications are terrifying—and could be politically inconvenient in the extreme. It is exactly the type of issue that I would expect for domain experts in the subject matter to be unable to contemplate objectively, with neither denial nor minimization. That would be a concern, even if they had not long ago corrupted their whole thought process by contorting the evolutionary and genetic sciences to avoid any hint of “racist pseudoscience”.

I have seen some scientific discussions about the genetic stability of Covid, how it is and is not likely to mutate, and so forth. Much of it reaches beyond the realm of my knowledge, and readily I admit that I do not properly understand it. However, it is interesting that I made the above connection immediately—before I saw it mentioned on the Internet. I tend to think in evolutionary terms; it seemed obvious to me that in our hubris and our desperation for a silver bullet, all that we may be achieving is a eugenics program to breed a new race of superviruses. I mentioned this to a friend; she promptly dismissed it as a “weird theory”, even though she is generally a freethinker (and, I note, she remains unvaccinated). I first noticed similar ideas circulating amongst anti-vaxxers about a month later.

I could be wrong in my such supposition (although I do think that supposing the development timeline of all of the variants to be mere happenstance would be an extraordinary claim, requiring commensurate evidence). I am certainly right in my appraisal of the current state of scientific thought; in the application thereof to the Covid vaccines, I have provided a questionable proposition to illustrate the aforesaid epistemological problem.

  199. The pseudoscience of Marxism and all its offshoots — including the Democrat Part — could not exist if its adherents did not reject empiricism.

  200. @Rabbitnexus

You really have to marvel at the psychopathy of denial that asserts that there is ‘no science’ in the anthropogenic climate destabilisation theory. There is, in fact, nearly 200 years of hypothesis, theory, observation and experimentation by tens of thousands of scientists. Yet this arrogant Dunning-Krugerite, driven by a cultic fanaticism worthy of any Jonestown kamikaze denies it all. The utterly dogmatic imbecile accuses scientists of dogma-the projection is typical and maniacal.
And who are these scientists? Why 99% of active climate scientists, generations of the same who came beforehand, ALL the Academies of Science and ALL the scientific societies on Earth. On the other hand you have suicidally fanatical dullards who cannot even read the news reports of the twenty hottest years recorded being since 1998, the hottest 2016 and 2020, July 2021 the hottest month ever recorded, temperatures of 49 Celsius in British Colombia and Sicily, mega-fires worldwide and unprecedented deluges and floods. The problem is that imbeciles can NEVER learn from error. Admitting a mistake destroys their lunatic self-belief that they are geniuses when they are, in fact, brainwashed, Life-hating, pig ignorant cretins. And they have won.
